According to farmers in Benguet, many of the vegetables were damaged due to the rain.

They will still not be able to harvest the potatoes until the weather improves.

According to the Department of Agriculture (DA), it is common for vegetables to be damaged due to rain or storms during these months.

It is possible that it will be a long time before market prices drop again, especially when the rain continues or another typhoon is coming.

“Maybe August, if we have good weather then meron meron na tayong mga improvement sa presyo ng ating gulay,” said Agriculture Assistant Secretary Kristine Evangelista.

The DA, on the other hand, made sure that they know which areas have large production of vegetables or agricultural commodities that can be harvested for the areas devastated by the typhoon and there is a shortage of supply.

The national Social Weather Survey of June 23-26, , found 49% of adult Filipinos saying their quality-of-life got worse (termed by SWS as “Losers”), 18% saying it got better (“Gainers”), and 33% saying it was the same (“Unchanged”), compared to a year ago.

The resulting Net Gainers score is -31 (% Gainers minus % Losers), classified by SWS as very low (-39 to -30).

The June 2021 Net Gainer score is 7 points up from the very low -38 in May 2021, continuing the recovery from the catastrophic levels of -78 in May 2020, -72 in July 2020, and -76 in September 2020.
