The local government of Manila and the Department of Health (DOH) will be investigating the deaths of a pregnant woman and her baby. In the video, the pregnant woman was seen getting off the ambulance and walking several meters to the hospital.

In Vonne Aquino’s report on GMA News TV’s “Balitang Tanghali” on Monday, the pregnant woman who died was shown in CCTV footage going down the ambulance.

Morga was with her partner Danilo Publico and sister Rebecca. The three came from the Sampaloc Hospital and were transferred to Sta. Ana, because the hospital could no longer handle Morga’s condition, which was about to give birth and was already bleeding.

Morga’s baby was pronounced dead inside her womb when she was examined at Sampaloc Hospital. Because the hospital’s facilities were not sufficient for Morga’s condition, they recommended that she would be transferred to Sta. Ana Hospital.

Due to the lack of money for the fare, they asked the Sampaloc Hospital to have the ambulance available to them. Although they were taken to the hospital, they were not dropped off at the emergency room. Instead, the pregnant woman with a dead baby inside her and was already bleeding walked towards the hospital’s entrance.

Morga allegedly lost consciousness before she reached Sta. Ana Hospital’s gate. Her baby boy was already dead when she gave birth to him at around midnight.

The mother died two hours after giving birth.

On Morga’s death certificate, she died of hypovolemic shock or excessive bleeding, very severe anemia, and abruption.

The victim’s family wants Sampaloc Hospital to be held accountable for the fact that they allowed Morga to walk to the hospital while she was bleeding.

Morga was a garbage trader while her partner Publico was a jeepney barker.

Due to lack of money, the mother and her baby were put into one casket and were already buried.
