Pregnant minor, shot outside Cagayan De Oro justice hall

A pregnant minor was shot outside the hall of justice in Barangay Carmen, Cagayan De Oro, on Tuesday.

In CCTV footage of a gas station on Mastersons Avenue, two men in helmets riding a motorcycle parked opposite the building were seen.

Three women crossed the pedestrian lane from the said building before the motorcycle approached them, and one of them fell.

The 16-year-old pregnant minor was shot in the neck and is now recovering at the hospital.

According to reports, the victim was five months pregnant.

Pregnant minor came from arraignment with accused police, shot outside Cagayan De Oro justice hall

According to the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office, the victim went out of arraignment on a charge of lasciviousness she filed against her former employer whose a police officer in Misamis Oriental. CDO police did not name the accused cop for now.

City councilor Romeo Calizo has ordered the police to tighten security for the victim at the hospital.

“The police should look into the possibility that the perpetrator ay ang inireklamo. Pero it’s unfair also if he will not be given a day in court to clear his name. But automatically, he’ll be a person of interest,” said Calizo, chairman of the council on police, fire and public safety of the council.

The victim cannot speak, and police have not yet taken her testimony of the incident.

The Women and Children’s Desk of the police will talk with the victim’s family to obtain additional information that may assist their investigation.
