A female lawyer was injured after bullets hit the vehicle she was driving in Barangay Homapon, Legazpi City, around 10 Sunday morning.
According to Captain Benhur Ariola of Homapon, the lawyer’s vehicle was hit after an ambush on her police mobile.
It is said that the policemen were on their way home to their station at that time after the investigation was conducted on the burned cell site in their barangay past 2 a.m. Sunday morning.
But before the ambush, a loud explosion first occurred on the side of the road where shrapnel hit the traveling tricycle aboard a family.
The three tricycle riders sustained minor injuries.
“Galing dito sa barangay hall yung mga pulis dahil nag-imbestiga nga sa nasunog ditong cell site. Tapos pag-alis nila, siguro mga 2 to 3 minutes nakarinig na lang kami ng malakas na pagsabog at putukan na,” said Ariola.
The police have not yet issued an official statement in this regard.
1 dead, 1 more injured in SUV and motorcycle collision
A rider was killed while his passenger was injured after an SUV collided with the motorcycle he was driving in Barangay Sarapan, Passi City, Sunday afternoon.
The dead rider was identified as Eddie Navigar, 24 years old and living in the area, while his companion, a minor, was injured.
According to the Passi City Police investigation, the victims’ motorcycle and the SUV were in the same direction when the motorcycle suddenly overtook the SUV.
Coincidentally, the SUV made a U-turn, and the motorcycle did not realize the reason for it colliding with the motorcycle.
The victims were immediately taken to the hospital, but the motorcycle driver was declared dead on arrival after sustaining severe head injuries and a broken leg.
Meanwhile, the rider continues to be treated at the hospital after sustaining injuries to various parts of the body.
The SUV driver is now in the custody of the Passi City Police and is scheduled to be charged with Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Homicide with Multiple Injuries and Damage to Property.
