Makati City Police personnel rescued a Chinese national who was abducted by two of her countrymen during an operation at a hotel in the city Monday night.
The victim was identified as Ao Yuan, living at Three Central Condominium, Valero St., Brgy. Bel-Air, while the arrested suspects were Zhou Meng, 26, and Tseng Yi-Ting, 25, both residing at Lerato Tower 1, Malugay St., Brgy Bel-Air, Makati.
According to the police report, P/Maj Gideon Ines, chief of Station Investigation and Detective Management Section (SIDMS), received information through a Chinese mobile application that a female Chinese national was abducted and detained in a hotel.
It was 9:40 pm on Monday when police raided Ting’s Unit at Lerato Tower 1 on Malugay Street, Brgy. Bel-Air where authorities rescued victim Ao and arrested two suspects.
The investigation revealed that the victim had debts with the two suspects, which is believed to be the primary motive for the abduction.
The suspects were immediately taken to the Makati City Police Station while Illegal Detention case was being prepared against them at the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office.
Rizal mayor survives ambush, 2 injured
Teresa, Rizal Mayor Raul Palino miraculously survived after he was ambushed by an unidentified man aboard a van in Brgy. Poblacion, Teresa. His driver and security detail were injured.
Victims Ruel Santos, 44, security detail of the mayor and driver Joel Balajadia, 38 were both treated at Saint Therese Hospital.
According to a report by P / CMS Ruben Ferrer who is handling the case, the mayor and his escort were aboard a white Toyota Hi-Ace (A9S-147) driven by Balajadia and were heading home. The suspects suddenly fired at the mayor’s car when they reach E. Rodriguez Avenue, Brgy. Poblacion.
On CCTV footage, Palino’s van was first chased and shot by the two suspects.
The bullets, unfortunately, hit Balajadia and Santos, who was rushed to the hospital for immediate treatment. The mayor was luckily unharmed.
The suspects did not carry any vehicles and fled in the direction of Antipolo.
The PNP immediately activated their “Oplan Cobweb” and launched a manhunt operation against the suspects.
