Police are on a man-hunt in Angeles City for a Filipino-American in the shooting death of his wife in Baragngay Balibago on Thursday.

57-year-old Enrique “Ike” Gomez, father of three reportedly killed his 32-year-old wife, Mylene Flores Angeles.

The couple’s 12-year-old son sought the assistance of the barangay tanods after his father shot his mother to death.

The son said he came home after school and was surprised to see the room of his mother in disarray. Seconds later he heard a gunshot in the bathroom of their home, where he found his mother lying in a pool of blood.

The boy said his father had a gun, which he poked at him. He ran outside and immediately sought help.

Special Weapons and Tactics division was called after the police tried to negotiate with the man who they thought was inside the house. The boy’s two siblings were inside the home and authorities feared for their lives.

The team tried to negotiate a hostage standoff but found out after they busted down the front door that the suspect and his young daughter had escaped from the home. Police are trying to determine the reason behind the shooting and the whereabouts of him and his daughter.
