Police directors, chiefs, officers sacked in PNP revamp

Central Visayas (Police Regional Office 7) Director Valeriano de Leon was removed from office yesterday, while six officers were also sacked in another PNP (Philippine National Police) revamp.

The recent reshuffle of PNP officers was based on a memorandum ordered by the office of PNP Chief Police General Archie Gamboa.

“The revamp was based on over-all performance, campaign against illegal drugs, illegal gambling, and corruption, implementation of internal cleansing against rouge cops, compliance to specific orders on the discipline of personnel such as playing golf during office hours, etc.”, said Gamboa.

Brig. Gen. Albert Ignatius Ferro, former Deputy Director for Operations or number 3 man of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), replaced De Leon as the new Director of PRO7 based in Cebu. De Leon and Ferro were classmates at the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class of 1989.
