Police have arrested a rookie cop and his cohort after a buy-bust sting operation set up by the local PNP.

33-year-old PO1 Marvin Marasigan and his 19-year-old accomplice, John Quintos were arrested by in the town of Real, Quezon.

Police say the suspects were arrested while handing the drugs to the undercover buyer. Marasigan was found with 20 grams of Shabu along with a .9mm Glock and a Honda Civic.

The rookie-cop was assigned to Sariaya Police Station in the town of Real.

Oddly the police admitted to using photocopied 1,000 peso bills as the marked money to purchase the drugs from the rookie cop, a crime in itself.

Marasigan was a known drug dealer. A previously arrested drug dealer in the same town gave up vital information as to the region’s drug trade, eventually confessing that Marasigan was one of the pushers.

“The suspect divulged to us how he and his cohorts, including Marasigan and Quintos, do transactions with their drug buyers,” police  said.

During the arrest and subsequent drug-bust, a young woman and her three-month-old baby were sitting in Maraasigan’s car. No information was available if they were part of the drug deal or if the woman had been arrested.

Marasigan is now being held in jail until formal charges are brought against him.
