PNP-IAS targets to resolve Tarlac shooting in 30 days

The Philippine National Police Internal Affairs Service said it hoped to resolve the Tarlac shooting incident involving Police Senior Master Sergeant Jonel Nuezca in 30 days.

“Thirty days po ang timeline,” IAS chief Inspector General Alfegar Triambulo told GMA News Online on Tuesday.

Triambulo said in a separate radio interview that the IAS began investigating the case last Sunday after receiving the report on the Tarlac shooting incident.

He added the video, which caught the incident, was a piece of strong evidence against the Nuezca.

Sabi nga the picture or ‘yung mga video clips na ‘yan speak of a thousand words,” Triambulo said.

Nuezca fled the crime scene but surrendered to Pangasinan authorities yesterday. He was indicted for double murder.

The Office of the Provincial Prosecutor of Tarlac upon inquest found probable cause to indict the killer cop for two counts of murder.

The charges were filed before the Paniqui, Tarlac Regional Trial Court on Monday.

According to the death certificates showed by the victims’ family, Sonya died from a bullet wound to the head, while Anton died from bullet wounds to the head and face.

The mother and son’s funeral at Barangay Cabayaoasan was attended by their relatives, who cried for justice.
