As Filipino fans expected, Philippines’ Gazini Ganados grabbed the Miss Universe 2019 wild card and made it to the pageant’s top 20.
Ganados failed to be included in the list of semi-finalists from South Africa and the Asia Pacific regions, which are South Africa, Indonesia, Vietnam, Nigeria, and Thailand.
In 2017, Rachel Peters also made it to the top 16 as a wild card.

Gazini Ganados is a Filipino fashion model is and is known for her work in advocating for elderly care and HIV and AIDS research.
The pageant is hosted by Steve Harvey, who is on his fifth consecutive year as host, while Olivia Culpo and Vanessa Lachey will serve as backstage correspondents, and Ally Brooke will perform. A new crown made by luxury jeweler Mouawad will make its debut.
