Patients will not be neglected in health workers’ walkout: group

The group of health workers assured that the patients would not be neglected in their protest concerning their unpaid benefits.

The Philippine Alliance of Patient Organizations (PAPO) requested that the welfare of patients not be compromised by the health workers’ protests regarding the non-payment of allowances and benefits.

At the same time, PAPO said that they sympathize with the health workers against them.

Patients will not be neglected in health workers’ walkout: group

Health workers’ “mass walkout” is set to begin on Monday in protest of the government not providing their due benefits.

According to Vice President Leni Robredo, the issue is about money and appreciating the sacrifices of the medical frontliners for almost 2 years.

“Walang excuse kung bakit ‘di natin naasikaso dahil last year pa ang pandemic.

According to health workers, they will not stop calling the attention of the Department of Health as long as benefits and allowances are not provided.

Various hospitals, as well as other groups sympathizing with health workers, will join the protest.

The Chinese General Hospital denied that they would participate in the walkout on Monday.

The hospital has reportedly received a special risk allowance of P21 million and will distribute it this week.
