A former follower of megachurch Pastor Quiboloy threw new cash smuggling allegations against him and another church officer.
According to recent court documents, former church member Kristina Angeles witnessed Felina Salinas, and Pastor Quiboloy ordered church members to smuggle hundreds of thousands of U.S. dollars from California to the Philippines. The incident happened in 2013 and 2014, as per Rick Daysog’s report in HawaiiNewsNow.com
In 2018, Salinas was accused of smuggling more than $300,000 in cash from Hawaii to the Philippines.
US Department of Homeland Security officials said Salinas presented the currency report form to inspectors, declaring she had $ 40,000 and P1,000.
However, when officers opened the bag, they found 335,000 US dollars and 9,000 Australian dollars hidden in socks.
U.S. federal currency laws state that travellers have to declare money worth $ 10,000 or more. Salinas was temporarily released on bail of $ 25,000.
Angeles also accused Pastor Quiboloy of sexually abusing her
Angeles claimed the pastor abused her when she was only 16 years old. She also believes that the Kingdom of Jesus Christ pastor was abusing other young women church members until now.
Meanwhile, a mother accused Angeles of sexually abusing a minor, also her churchmates.
However, the federal prosecutor presented text messages indicating Salinas’ involvement in Angeles’ case. It showed Salinas urging the victim’s mother to accuse Angeles.
“Please, sis do something … everything in your power to speed this up … Please deport her ASAP,” Salinas’ text said.
The victim’s mother replied, “I cannot sleep thinking I have to lie in federal court … I have never done that ever in my life,” which appeared to admit she gave false testimony against Angeles.
Reports said Kingdom of Jesus Christ churches in North America earns more than $3 million a year from tithes and offerings.
According to HawaiiNewsNow, church members also sell Krispy Kreme doughnuts, manapua and bread, and beg for donations on Oahu’s streets.
