Albert Tobler, from Switzerland, was arrested for the illegal possession of a high-powered firearm in Floridablanca on Monday, July 30.

The arrest came just days after Australian Michael James Hill was arrested in Angeles City for possession of shabu worth 136,000 pesos.

Tobler, aged 62, was arrested by officers of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) under suspicion of violating Republic Act 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act.

Meanwhile, at the red light district of Barangay Balibago in Angeles City, a team including officers from the National Bureau of Investigation and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested Hill at about 2am on Friday, July 27, for possession of drugs.

The team arrested Hill inside a room at Big Tommy’s Hotel on the MacArthur Highway. They seized from him five sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu.

The PDEA’s Special Enforcement Service Director Levi Ortiz said that the seized shabu weighed 20 grams and was worth  an estimated 136,000 pesos.

The Australian is now facing charges for violation of RA 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

He also may face for charges for child abuse and human trafficking because two adults and four minors were also in his hotel room.
