PAGASA weather update: PAGASA announced moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning, and strong winds are expected over Metro Manila and Nueva Ecija in the next two hours, Tuesday.
In its 1:18 p.m. thunderstorm advisory, the PAGASA said the same conditions were being experienced in the following areas:
- Quezon (General Nakar, Calauag, Guinayangan, Real, Infanta)
- Zambales (Candelaria, Masinloc, San Marcelino, Botolan)
- Tarlac (Mayantoc, Santalgnacia, Capas, Bamban, San Jose, San Clemente, Gerona, Paniqui)
- Pampanga (Mabalacat, Magalang); Bataan (Orion, Pilar)
- Bulacan (Norzagaray, Dona Remedios Trinidad)
- Rizal (Rodriguez, Tanay)
- Laguna (Victoria, Calauan, Bay, Los Baños, Alaminos, San Pablo, Nagcarlan)
- Batangas (Santo Tomas, Tanauan, Malvar, Balete, Mataas na Kahoy)
- Cavite (Tanza, Trece Martires, General Trias, Naic)
“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impact associated with these hazards, which include flash floods and landslides,” PAGASA said.
There is no active tropical cyclone within the Philippine Area of Responsibility, according to PAGASA weather update.

Typhoon Ambo left ₱185.8 million worth of damages to agriculture
National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported Typhoon Ambo left ₱185.8 million worth of damages to the agriculture industry.
The damages have been reported from a total of ten provinces in the Bicol region, CALABARZON, and Eastern Visayas.
The Bicol region had a total loss of over P102 million while the province of Masbate recorded ₱57 million worth of damages.
Ambo also hit around 37,000 farmers and fishers in the said region.
Ambo, which has an international name ‘Vongfong,’ also caused around ₱78.5 million worth of damages in CALABARZON and over ₱5 million in the provinces of Eastern and Northern Samar.
The first typhoon in the Philippines also affected At least 25,000 families or over 82,000 people affected in 59 cities and municipalities nationwide, the NDRRMC reported.
Meanwhile, Ambo also damaged at least nine health facilities in the Bicol region and Eastern Visayas, including the Bicol Regional Diagnostic and Reference Laboratory. The said facility is one of the 30 COVID-19 testing centers accredited by the Department of Health.
NDRRMC reported that as of Sunday, the said laboratory is no longer functional and will temporarily suspend specimen collection and testing for COVID-19.
