PAGASA weather forecast: LPA now Tropical Depression Ramon

PAGASA weather forecast: The low-pressure area near the Bicol region now developed into a tropical depression named “Ramon,” which is the country’s 18th tropical cyclone for 2019, and the 2nd for this month.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued its weather bulletin past 11 am on Tuesday, confirming Tropical Depression Ramon is 835 kilometers east southeast of Virac, Catanduanes, or 685 kilometers east of Borongan City, Eastern Samar.

“Ramon” is moving west at a slow pace of 10 kilometers per hour (km/h).

As of now, the tropical depression has maximum winds of 55 km/h and gustiness of up to 70 km/h. However, PAGASA said “Ramon” is expected to intensify into a tropical storm within the next two days or 48 hours.

At the moment, no storm signal warning has been raised in the country, but according to PAGASA, Eastern Samar and the eastern part of Northern Samar could be under signal no.1 on Tuesday afternoon.
