Authorities seized P23 million worth of shabu from two female Thai nationals in a buy-bust operation in Pasay City.

Police identified the suspects as Narumon Sukkato and Kanokrat Jampangoen.

Sukkato, 30, was first arrested at the MOA Complex in Pasay City while another suspect was arrested in a suspected follow up operation.

According to Jampangoen, a friend of theirs in Thailand ordered them to meet a girl in the Philippines and hand over the backpack.

They did not know that the contents of the bag were drugs.

The total amount of confiscated shabu from the two female Thai nationals is estimated at P23 million.

Korean arrested for abduction of fellow Korean in Ermita

PNP-Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG) arrested a Korean man involved in the abduction of his fellow Korean who had been rescued by operatives at a condominium unit in Ermita, Manila.

At a press briefing at Camp Crame, the arrested suspect was identified as Na Jin Suk, 36.

According to PNP-AKG director Brig. Gen. Jonnel Estomo, the rescued hostage, was identified as Kim Byeong Mo, 19. Authorities rescued the victim at around 6 pm yesterday, at Gotesco Towers B located on N. Concepcion Street, Ermita in Manila.

It was learned that the victim had arrived in the country on January 19, 2020, around 4 pm after being offered a job offer by a friend in the Philippines.

The victim was taken to the Gotesco Towers in Ermita, Manila, and was met by three Koreans, including the suspect, where he was asked to surrender his phone and passport.
