Over P200-M worth of shabu seized in Parañaque, Taguig

Police seized 30 kilos or more than P200-million worth of shabu in a series of buy-bust operations in Paranaque City and Taguig City Wednesday night.

Members of the Drug Enforcement Group of the Philippine National Police (PNP-DEG) arrested three men who are considered pushers and suppliers under the Golden Triangle Syndicate.

18 kilos or P122.4 million worth of alleged shabu was found inside the vehicle at Bayani Road, Waterfun, Taguig, around 10 p.m.

This is where the 33-year-old online seller alias “Ibrahim” was caught.

According to Police Lt. Col. Enrico Rigor, chief of legal and investigation of the PNP-DEG, “Ibrahim” is the supplier of 2 alleged pushers caught in the previous buy-bust at 6:30 pm in Don Bosco, Paranaque.

The two alias “Omal” and “Abdul” were identified from Upper Bicutan, Taguig.

They seized 12 kilos or P81.6-million worth of shabu.

According to Rigor, the drug came from the Golden Triangle Syndicate based on the container found.

This group of Chinese also allegedly supplied some narcotics in the New Bilibid Prisons in Muntinlupa City.

Police continue to follow-up on other accomplices of the group.

According to Research Gate, “The Golden Triangle region joins Burma, Thailand, and Laos is one of the global opiate and methamphetamine production centers. Opportunistic Chinese businessmen and leaders of various armed groups are largely responsible for the manufacture of these drugs.”

Meanwhile, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency () destroyed 1,394 kilograms or P6.25 billion worth of seized  in Cavite province on Thursday in compliance with President Rodrigo Duterte’s order to destroy confiscated narcotics.

PDEA Director General Wilkins Villanueva said there are still over 1,500 kilograms of narcotics that would be destroyed on November 26.

“Mayroon na lang po tayong natitirang 1,529 kilograms [na illegal na droga]. Ito ay susunugin natin by November 26, next month, at kapag natapos po ito, zero zero ang inventory ng PDEA,” Villaneuva said in a speech during the destruction the Integrated Waste Management, Inc. in Barangay Aguado, Trece Martires City.
