Over P800K worth of marijuana seized from student in Bataan

A student was caught with more than P800,000 worth of suspected marijuana in a buy-bust in Mariveles town, Bataan on Tuesday.

Up to 7 bricks of so-called marijuana fruiting tops and self-sealing transparent plastic sachets were confiscated from alias Vin in Barangay Batangas II.

The suspect was arrested during an operation conducted by the Bataan Provincial Intelligence and Drug Enforcement Unit.

A case of violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act against the arrested student is being prepared.

Meanwhile, Marikina City Police launched a buy-bust operation against a female drug pusher Tuesday.

The transaction took place at Jogging Lane, Barangay Barangka where the target met in a white car.

The suspect sold to the poseur buyer P8,000 worth of suspected shabu.

A plastic bag containing suspected shabu worth P680,000 was also confiscated from her and her companion.

According to the police, the 35-year-old female suspect is said to be selling huge supplies of illegal drugs.

Police are still investigating where their supply is coming from and who their customers are.

The two are facing charges of selling illegal drugs without bail.

At P1-M worth of money, jewelry stolen from jewelry shop in Manila

An unidentified suspect stole an estimated P1-million worth of jewelry and money from a jewelry shop in Recto, Manila Wednesday morning.

According to police, the owner opened his shop at 7 in the morning. The suspect pointed a gun at her and followed her inside.

The suspect was able to steal the jewelry worth approximately P500,000.

Apart from jewelry, the suspect also stole cash worth half a million pesos.

The jewelry shop is just around the corner from Recto and Avenida.

There was even a slight chase because some residents in the area chased after the suspect but they could not catch him. The suspect allegedly rode a motorcycle.

Police will preview the CCTV in the area to see if it caught the incident.

Police are still conducting an investigation to identify the suspect and recover the stolen money and jewelry.
