Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Makati City Police personnel seized up to P6-million worth of suspected shabu in separate buy-bust operations in Makati City on Wednesday.
According to police, two men were arrested in connection with the sale of shabu in the city.
PDEA Special Enforcement Service and the police arrested an alias “Jay-ar” was first arrested during an operation at a gas station in Barangay Pio Del Pilar around 1 pm.
A plastic bag containing five plastics containing 500 grams or P 3.4 million worth of shabu were confiscated from him.
“Jay-ar” should have included in the transaction an alias “Empoy,” but he not show up.
But during the follow-up operation before 7 pm, Makati police arrested “Empoy” in a house at Bgy. San Isidro.
The poseur buyer was supposed to buy P50,000 worth of shabu from “Empoy”, but Makati police seized 375 grams or more than P2.5 million worth of drugs from him.
Police also recovered drug paraphernalia from him.
According to Makati chief of police Col. Oscar Jacildo, “Empoy” may have suspected that the first operation was an entrapment, so he did not show up.

Jacildo said the suspect is using online chat to transact with his supplier and customers.
They even use a code or secret word to negotiate the transaction and meet in person to get the drug.
PDEA is holding “Jay-ar” and “Empoy” in the custody of the Makati police.
They are both charged with drug selling and possession under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

Parañaque releases P5K aid to 50,000 families via Bank-on-Wheels
‘Paraña-Cash’ via ‘Bank-on-Wheels’ (BOW) was launched yesterday with the distribution of P5,000 cash assistance by the Parañaque local government to 50,000 household beneficiaries amid the existing modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ).
“Today is another milestone as we witness the pilot run of the on-site digital disbursement of ‘Paraña-Cash’ Assistance Program which is P5,000 for every household in Parañaque,” said Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez.
The Union Bank of the Philippines (UnionBank) is a partner in the said program, for withdrawing cash at the 5G-powered and airconditioned banking kiosk inside the mobile van.
According to Olivarez, it has been two weeks since the residents started receiving their UnionBank EON VISA Card.
