Online seller turns over stuffed toy filled with ‘suspected shabu’

An online seller turned over a stuffed toy filled with sachets of ‘suspected shabu’ to Quezon City Police District (QCPD).

According to QCPD director, P/BGen Ronnie Montejo, online seller Anna Lissa Bumanglag, 49, went to Police Community Precinct 5 (PCP 5) of Kamuning Police Station 10 (PS-10) to turn over a Minnie Mouse stuffed toy, 4:30 pm, Sunday.

It was learned that Bumanglag ordered the stuffed toy from a dealer in Baguio City. She decided to surrender it to the police after she discovered the stuffed toy has 13 plastic sachets of white powder, which they suspect to be shabu.

The online seller said she was overwhelmed by the stuffed toy’s weight and decided to check the contents, and here she discovered plastic sachets.

PS 10 chief, Lt. immediately ordered. Col. Louise Benjie Tremor to submit the substance to the QCPD Crime Laboratory for testing. There they discovered the white powder was not shabu.

Montejo said the substance weighing nearly two kilograms could have been placed by the seller inside the toy to deceive Bumanglag.

Montejo praised the online seller for promptly reporting to the police and making the modus known to the public.
