‘I heard you only had one testicle’ – Duterte’s gunfight challenge to senator

Duterte gunfight
President Duterte has again taken aim at his bitterest political foe Senator Trillanes

President Duterte has again challenged his bitterest political enemy to a gunfight, while accusing him of missing a testicle.

The president also accused Senator Antonio Trillanes IV of having an affair with former Anti-Money Laundering Council executive director Julia Bacay-Abad. He claimed that their relationship lay behind the leaking of “false” details of his wealth.

Speaking yesterday (Wednesday, October 4), he said: “I heard you have only one testicle. You’re a braggart. Why don’t you fight me in a gun duel? You can brag about your mouth.”

He also claimed that Senator Trillanes started to attack him during the election campaign in a bid to derail his presidential bid — “but to no avail”.

“Now it’s dead. They will have many charges now,” he added.

The president said the senator got purported bank details from Abad, which were then handed on to Deputy Ombudsman Rodolfo Elman and Overall Deputy Ombudsman Melchor Carandang, who have been tasked to probe the bank deposits of the Duterte family.

“You cannot use it as evidence in court because you and Abad stole it. She gave the documents to Trillanes, Trillanes gave it to Elman, the Ombudsman for Mindanao because I’m a resident there in Mindanao, then gave it to Morales.

“Now they are washing their hands, including Elman,” he said.

“Carandang has a resolution in my case. It is attached on the record. It was ignored,” he added.

After accusing Trillanes of having an affair with Abad, he said he could not allow him to ruin the country and his presidency.

“It’s Trillanes who will bring this government or this country down to the dogs. He’s leading in being brave so I will take him first, son of a bitch,” he said.

Who is Snooky?

In a hastily called press conference, the president encouraged his allies at the House of Representatives to proceed with the impeachment cases against Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales and Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.

He made the statement after Morales said she would not abandon her constitutional duty to investigate irregularities in the government, including the president. He accused Morales of conspiring with political forces to remove him from office.

“We will file an impeachment case against her and I would tend to believe that she was part of the conspiracy, on the fabricated papers,” he said, referring to the bank documents.

“I said, in the end, to their sorrow, they would discover that there’s no such thing as that amount.”

The president also denied knowing Daniel “Snooky” Cruz, his alleged source of information about offshore bank accounts owned by the senator. He quipped that the only Snooky he knew was the actress Snooky Serna and Snoopy, the cartoon dog.

However, he did not mention how numerous photographs exist of him with the Snooky in question.

He also denied paying money to get information about the senator’s alleged bank accounts.

“I will not spend a single centavo for him. He is not worth even one peso to me,” the president said.
