Two young boys were sideswiped by a Philippines National Railways train in Paco, Manila.
The boys were identified as Boboy Balan and Stephano Frenandez – both are said to be 13 years of age and from the region of Paco.
Balan was crushed to death under the force of the moving train, while Fernandez lost his one leg in the mishap.
The accident took place at 2pm near the corner of Osmeña Highway and Quirino Avenue – the victims were said to have just finished their lunch and we chatting, unaware they were standing on the tracks. The boys tried to outrun the train but were sideswiped at the same time by the Tutuban-bound train which just came from Taguig.
