Old man robbed of relief goods in Naga City

A grandfather in Naga City, Camarines Sur, has been robbed of relief goods while he was sleeping, according to a Unang Balita report Monday.

According to 60-year-old Oscar Guererro, about 25 kilograms of rice donated by the barangay was stolen from him.

It was early in the morning, and he was sleeping when the thieves broke the padlock in his house.

Because of the incident, his neighbors, members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police of Naga City gave Oscar food.

German national recovers from COVID-19 in Aklan

A 60-year-old German national has been discharged from Dr. Rafael S. Tumbukon Memorial Hospital (DRSTMH) in Kalibo town after recovering from COVID-19 disease.

This is after the results of his laboratory testing yielded negative.

The German national was recorded as a COVID-19 patient in Romblon province, although he was admitted to the town of Kalibo.

Before the German national’s recovery, three more COVID-19 patients in Aklan province were discharged from the hospital.

The first was the 80-year-old grandfather from Libacao and was followed by two COVID-19 patients who were all from Kalibo.

Another COVID-19 doctor is expected to be released from a hospital in Boracay after his lab results came in negative. He is currently completing his 14-day home quarantine at the Aklan Training Center in Kalibo.

Currently, only one patient with COVID-19 is admitted to DRSTMH. The patient is 68 years old.

The Aklan Provincial Government is hopeful that the province will be COVID-free in the coming days.

As of April 26, the Philippines recorded a total of 7,579 confirmed cases, with the DOH reporting 285 additional cases.

Meanwhile, the DOH also reported seven new deaths, increasing the toll to 501 while 70 more patients survived the disease, raising the number of recoveries to 862.


Man arrested in drug-buy bust in Pagadian city

Authorities arrested a man in a drug-buy bust operation in Pagadian City on Saturday.

According to the report of “24 Oras News Alert” on Sunday, police seized 11 sachets of suspected shabu, one digital scale, and buy-bust from the suspect.

The suspect was caught in the middle of an existing quarantine community in the city.

The suspect is in jail and has no statement.
