NTC orders all telcos to prepare for typhoon Ulysses

The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) on Wednesday directed all public telecommunications companies to prepare for the coming Typhoon Ulysses.

NTC ordered telcos “to ensure that there are sufficient number of technical and support personnel and standby generators with extra fuel, tools, and spare equipment in the areas forecast to be affected by the incoming Typhoon Ulysses.” NTC Commissioner Gamaliel Cordoba signed the memorandum.

“As reported today by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration, Typhoon Ulysses was ‘last spotted 250 kilometers east northeast of Virac, Catanduanes’,” it said.
