Former five-division world champion Nonito Donaire, often referred to as the “Filipino Flash” showed the world he is back at his very best with an outstanding second-round knockdown of France’s Anthony Settoul in Macau on Saturday.
Philippines 2012 ‘Fighter of the Year’ improved his record of 35 wins and three defeats and is heading once again for a world title.
The super-power match was a mind-numbing scene with the first round seeing Settoul on his knees twice after being hit with body shots by Donaire.
Round two saw Settoul taking some hard diaphragm punches and one final hit to the chin that put him down for the count. Though he beat the count, Settoul was unsteady on his feet and staggering when his team threw in the towel.
