New Zealand pedophile arrested by BI

New Zealand pedophile arrested by the Bureau of Immigration (BI), reported on Monday.

Acting Immigration Intelligence Division chief Fortunato “Jun” Manahan Jr. identified the foreigner to be Alan James Linton.

Linton was arrested in his house at Sugarland Subdivision in Valencia City, Bukidnon on August 23.

According to BI Commissioner Jaime Morente, Linton is a fugitive and was wanted by authorities in New Zealand. Linton was convicted twice for sexually abusing two children.

The New Zealand police alerted the BI after they learned that Linton was in the Philippines. Authorities arrested Linton with a mission order fro the BI chief Morente.

Manahan said that Linton was described as a potential threat to Filipino children through physical contact or the internet because of his record as a convicted pedophile.

Linton is currently detained at the BI detention facility in Bicutan, Taguig City where he waits for his Deportation Order by the bureau’s Board of Commissioners (BOC).

On May 20, 2019, an American wanted for child porn offenses deported after Angeles City arrest. He married two women during his time in the Philippines. However, it is believed they were both minors when he first met them.

Meanwhile, the BI also caught two Chinese nationals who were illegally working in the Philippines.

The Chinese were named Wu Zhijie, 26, and Wu Jiajiang, 51, who were caught selling retail goods without proper work permits and visa in Catbalogan City on August 28.

The illegal Chinese workers are now also in BI detention facilities while their deportation is being processed.
