The Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) has opened a hotline for victims of the “tanim-bala” – the bullet planting scam infesting the country’s airports.
PAO chief, Presida Acosta said the agency will send lawyers to help those stopped at airports and falsely accused of carrying bullets in their luggage.
Acosta warned those planting bullets that they could be charged with ‘incriminatory machinations’, which is punishable by up to six months in jail.
The hotline number is 02-929-9436.
