Neighbors kill suspect in grandma, grandchild slay in Tacurong City

Neighbors killed the alleged suspect who stabbed a grandmother and her grandchild to death in Tacurong City on November 18.

About 20 neighbors hit the suspect with wood and hollow blocks that caused the suspect’s immediate death yesterday, November 21.

In a report on GMA News TV’s “Quick Response Team” on Thursday, the uncle of the deceased suspect, Ernesto Escolano Jr., alias J.R., said he saw Escolano cleaning the area where the body of the murdered grandmother and grandchild was found.

He tried to ask Escolano to surrender, but the suspect refused and took a stance to attack and stab him.

Their neighbors immediately came to rescue and ganged up on the suspect.

The neighbors stopped when the police arrived.

Despite the incident, Escolano’s relatives have no plans to file a complaint.

The suspect has been buried while his victims, the grandmother, 63, and grandchild, 9, are still being mourned by their bereaved family.

On November 18, the murdered victims were found at a grassland in Tacurong City.

According to the “QRT” report, 63-year-old and 9-year-old victims had stab wounds to various parts of the body.

It is possible that a hard object was used to hit the two.

Blood marks were also found in their home.

Based on the testimony of some neighbors, the killed suspect Ernesto Escolano, Jr. was found at the victims’ home before the crime occurred.
