Some local governments in Metro Manila have intensified vaccination as the number of COVID-19 cases in the National Capital Region (NCR) increases.
In Muntinlupa, the “Bakuna sa Gabi” will begin this Monday. Vaccination has been extended to 10 pm at New Cupang Health Center, which will start at 7 am.
This is to help economic frontliners who are on the night shift and have difficulty going to the vaccination site in the morning. The LGU noted this is by appointment only, and a text message should be received stating your schedule.
In Taguig, the vaccination will continue until midnight until the end of the enhanced community quarantine in NCR. In addition, Bonifacio High Street 2 Mega Vaccination Hub is open from 4 p.m. until 12 a.m.
It is also for those who cannot afford to get vaccinated in the morning. This program is also in conjunction with the Taguig Vaccination Bus, which rotates to various barangays.
In Parañaque, the recently launched drive-thru vaccination is also continuing in Bagong Nayong Pilipino. It will be for city dwellers in the first week, but it will also be open to people from other cities in Metro Manila.
Some NCR cities intensify vaccination drive
There is also a free shuttle from SM Sucat to the drive-thru site if there is no vehicle. Everyone who gets vaccinated must also be registered.
In Manila, the number of slots for drive-thru vaccination at the Quirino Grandstand has increased. Starting Monday, 200 doses will be available from the previous 100. And according to the LGU, the slots filled up quickly, and there were almost no vacancies until August 22. Walk-in vaccination is not allowed here.
Meanwhile, OCTA Research Group said the National Capital Region showed improvement.
“Sa Metro Manila, hindi siya tumaas kahapon. Bumaba siya ng konti. Noong Saturday, 3,989 cases. Pero kahapon, 3,640. Kahapon mas mababa siya kaysa doon sa past three days,” Professor Guido said.
“So may hope naman na baka may makikita tayong epekto ng enhanced community quarantine sa Metro Manila,” Guido said.
