After a six-month investigation, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has issued a recommendation on who should be charged in the February shootout with Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) personnel.
Four people were killed in the incident on February 24, which happened in the parking area of a fast-food chain on Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City.
Both sides explained that they were both conducting anti-drug operations when the shooting happened.
On Monday, the NBI recommended to the Department of Justice (DOJ) to file a complaint against 12 PNP-Quezon City personnel and four PDEA personnel.
Cases include homicide, attempted homicide, direct assault, falsification of official documents, robbery, and conniving with or consenting to evasion.
The NBI is most charged for homicide in the death of Police Corporal Eric Elvin Garado.
