Movement supporting Mayor Sara Duterte launched

To further strengthen the fight in the presidential derby, Hugpong Para Kay Sara (HPS) is set to be launched on September 12 in connection with the May 2022 national elections in the country.

According to Deputy Speaker and New Generation Partylist Rep. Bernadette Herrera, presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte are quiet but strong changes.

Since Sara’s tour, she said that support has continued to pour in for her to run in the presidential elections.

Herrera said Mayor Sara is getting stronger based on her continued leadership in various presidential surveys.

Herrera added that Mayor Sara is gaining strength because of her determined actions that show strength and independence.

It will be recalled that Mayor Sara then punched a sheriff for enforcing a demolition order on the poor. She also gave her children the nickname Sharky, Stingray, and Stonefish.

Despite their differences with President Rodrigo “Rody” Duterte on various issues such as federalism and infrastructure investment, Herrera said that there is no denying Mayor Sara’s loyalty and love for her father and standing as First Lady when necessary.

“Yung alpha sa pamilya namin, hindi [ako]. Sabihin ko sa inyo hindi ‘yan totoo, hindi ako, si Inday. Kung sabihin ni Inday, ganito, ganito ‘yan. Sa pamilya namin, siya ‘yan,” President Duterte said.

Last week, Davao City Mayor  confirmed that Go-Duterte, the tandem of Senator Bong and President Rodrigo Duterte, would run for president and vice president, respectively, in the 2022 elections.

She said her father “personally” confirmed to her his plans with Bong Go in next year’s national polls.

“The President, very recently, personally confirmed to me that he would run for Vice President and Senator Go as President,” Sara said.

“It was not a pleasant event.”

The mayor said she was left with two letters President  has endorsed for her consideration.

“One note explained why I should endorse the Go- tandem, and the other suggested that I take in Senator Go as my Vice President,” she said.

“If they can confirm it privately, then I do not see the reason why they cannot be candid about it to the public. They should simply present to the people what they can offer to our country and how they can help our fellow Filipinos,” Mayor Sara said.
