Some motorists complain about missing Easytrip load

Some motorists complain of lost or reduced load on their Easytrip Radio-frequency identification or RFID stickers even when they do not use them. Even an official of the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) allegedly experienced a similar problem.

In a report by Ivan Mayrina on GMA News “24 Oras” on Thursday, the complaining motorist William Herrera said he had RFID with his two vehicles and entered the two ID numbers in just one application.

But when Herrara allegedly passed the NLEX toll, both of his RFID stickers’ load were charged.

Herrera said he reported the incident to the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB).

But TRB Executive Director Engr. Abraham Sales said he also experienced what happened to Herrera.

So siyempre pina-check ko, may deperensiya raw ‘yong application, under maintenance,” said Sales.

Some motorists complain about missing Easytrip load

According to Metro Pacific Tollways Corp., which manages NLEX and Easytrip ID, their system had a “glitch” this weekend, and they are continuing to improve their service and app.

MPTC Chief Communication Officer Romulo Quimbo, on the other hand, said that the amount is automatically returned to the motorist as soon as he loses the Easytrip load.

“Nagkaroon tayo ng glitch, so it was as if two cars ang dumaan doon sa system namin. We have confirmed it internally na hindi naman dalawang beses siya na-charge for the same trip.

RFID looks like a sticker with a barcode that the scanner will read when the vehicle passes through tollways.

Starting December 1, the cashless system will be implemented in expressways to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
