The mother-in-law of Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone has been kidnapped in Brazil – she was abducted from her home in Sao Paulo.
Kidnappers have demanded a ransom of $36.5 million – if confirmed, the ransom would be the largest ever in Brazilian criminal history.
85-year-old Bernie Ecclestone is one of the most powerful men in sports today, and is worth a purported $3.1 billion (USD).
His mother-in-law, 67-year-old Aparecida Schunk, the mother of Fabiana Flosi was taken by the brazen kidnappers at her home in Sao Paulo’.
Bernie Ecclestone made news when he married Fabiana Flosi three years after meeting her at the Brazilian Grand Prix. Flosi is now 38-years-old – Ecclestone divorced his wife of 25 years and livea with Flosi in the UK. Ecclestone’s previous marriage was to Croatian model Slavica Radic.
The kidnappers have demanded the ransom be paid in pounds sterling and divided into four separate bags – police believe that is a sign that there are a total of four people involved in the kidnapping.
Today, Brazil is suffering from one of the worst economic crisis in decades – with only two weeks till the Olympic Games and the known history of the country’s kidnapping issues, as well as Zika Virus issues, many Olympiads have said they will not attend the event this year.
