A 23-year-old mother and 6-year-old daughter were found bloody and lifeless inside their house in Barangay Tomalaytay, Castilla Sorsogon, around 8 a.m. Wednesday.
According to Police Major Marmay Fartinca, chief of the Castilla Municipal Police Station, it was the relative of the victims who discovered them.
The girl’s 1-year-old daughter was left alive at the crime scene, full of blood but did not have any injuries.
The victims’ neck was slashed, and their bodies were full of stab wounds, Fartinca said.
“Yung nanay wala ng saplot yung katawan. May gilit siya sa leeg. Yung nanay halos maputol na po yung ulo. Konting konti na lang talaga putol na yung ulo. Yung panga basag na. May hiwa rin yung magkabilang hita ng nanay. Yung 6 yrs old naman po na babae, may gilit rin at sinaksak din sa mukha,” said Fartinca.
The uncle of the victim’s mother is the alleged suspect in the crime who fled but was also caught by the police in barangay Bagalayag.
The suspect confessed to police the crime, saying he was drunk at the time of the incident, according to Fartinca.

Conflict with the victim’s partner is one of the viewed angles in the crime.
“Inamin naman po niya na siya ang may gawang krimen. Ang sabi niya kaaway niya daw kasi yung ka-live in ng victim. And iniwan din itong suspek ng kalive-in niya 3 days ago. So yun nag-inom. Nagdilim yung paningin wala daw siya sa tamang pag-iisip kaya nagawa niya yung krimen. Wala that time yung asawa ng biktima kasi nangisda sa bayan ng Bulan,” said Fartinca.
But the suspect failed to be taken to the police station after the suspect who allegedly resisted was shot, resulting in his death.
It is still being investigated whether the suspect also raped the victims.
