Missing 3-year-old girl found dead, probably raped in Laguna

A three-year-old missing girl was found dead and probably raped San Pedro City, Laguna, Thursday.

Lt. Col. Chitadel Gaoiran, the Calabarzon police spokesperson, said the 3-year-old girl Hannah Batal was reported missing on Friday last week.

A man found the child’s naked and decaying body in a grassy area near a train railway in Barangay Pacita, San Pedro City, Paete, Laguna, at around 6:30 a.m.

Police still investigate how the victim was killed, but they suspect it was a rape-slay case.

“Nakahiga siya na hubad na. Tapos nakabukaka na yun, may posibildad na ni-rape yung bata na yun, ” said Plt. Crisando Calatay, Chief Investigator of San Pedro City Police.

(She was lying naked. Her legs were spread, so there’s a possibility that the child was raped.)

The child was with her father when she went missing Friday night last week. Her father said he fell asleep because he was exhausted for working all day as a tricycle driver.

According to San Pedro police, a witness said a man took the victim with him. The witness said he thought the man was the child’s relative since she did not hesitate to go with him.

Calatay said the victim went to his father before leaving, but her father did not wake up. He said the man wore a bandana to cover his face.

The father was in deep regret about what happened to her youngest daughter.

Investigators will subject the victim’s body for autopsy to confirm if she was raped before she was killed.

Meanwhile, another missing five-year-old girl was found dead and raped in Camarines Sur. Read the full story here.
