Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago’s book, “Stupid is Forever,” which was launched last December at National Book Stores throughout the Philippines has set a record of being the fastest-selling and best-selling book of 2014.
Santiago’s book was sold out on the first day on the market. As of January 11, 2015, the book has sold 110,000 copies since its launch. National Book Store has said that it now rests in the number #1 spot on their list of books sold for the month of January as well.
“Stupid Is Forever” is a collection of jokes, pick-up lines, comebacks and speeches delivered or curated by Sen. Santiago.
The book also features illustrations by Cj de Silva-Ong, Manix Abrera, Albert Or, Rob Cham and many other artists.
Santiago is well-known for her catchy pick-up lines before she starts her speeches and for her feisty and funny one-liners and the book is a fitting tribute to those moments.
Anyone interested in meeting Santiago, she will hold a “Meet and Greet” for her “Stupid is Forever” book on January 22 at the National Book Store Glorietta from 2-4pm.
Registration will begin at 11am and the first 500 copies will be signed and those wishing to have their photos taken with Sen. Santiago may do so.
