A 27-year-old man was arrested after being accused of raping a minor woman with a disability in Rosales, Pangasinan.
According to a report by Claire Lacanilao on GMA Regional TV “Balitang Amianan” on Wednesday, authorities said that the parents were looking for their 17-year-old PWD.
They saw the girl at the house of one of their relatives who was having a drink because of a birthday party.
But the victim’s father was suspicious when he noticed that the child’s hair was messy and her behavior was suspicious.
When asked by the father, the victim confessed to the rape committed by the suspect.
A medical examination revealed that the victim may have been raped.
But the suspect strongly denied the allegations against him.
The victim’s father decided to file a complaint against the suspect.
Meanwhile, a jeepney driver was arrested for allegedly raping his sister-in-law in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan. The suspect started abusing the victim when she was only 10 years old.
In a report on GMA News TV “Balitanghali” on Wednesday, it was said that in 2008, the suspect started raping his sister-in-law who was only 10 years old until she became 17 years old.
The man confessed to the crime and said he regretted it.
He was charged with 12 counts of qualified rape and is now in custody.
Man arrested for rape after 14 years of hiding
After 14 years in hiding, a man was arrested for allegedly raping his 12-year-old niece several times.
In a report by Emil Sumangil on GMA News “24 Oras” on Tuesday, the suspect started raping the victim who was hidden under the name “Cindy” in 2016.
“Hindi niya rin alam na ganon din pala ang ginagawa ng asawa at anak niya dito sa anak ko,” said Cindy’s mother.
The victim allegedly did not file a complaint because the suspect threatened to kill her and her siblings.
“Papatayin po ako ganon, na ‘wag akong magsusumbong kasi isusunod ‘yung mga kapatid ko,” said Cindy.
What happened to Cindy was only discovered when the mother returned home a year later and she noticed the girl’s strange behavior.
The suspect was charged with rape in 2007 and when the warrant of arrest was issued against him, he hid.
On Monday, the suspect returned to Tabaco, Albay, and was arrested after 14 years.
