Michele Gumabao bids goodbye to beauty pageants

Miss Universe Philippines 2020 second runner-up Michele Gumabao announced her retirement from beauty pageants because of her age.

“Unfortunately, po, because of my age, there will be no more beauty pageants for me,” Gumabao said in an interview with Pep.ph regarding her beauty pageant journey.

The recently held Miss Universe Philippines 2020 held in Baguio City was her last competition.

She added, “But, this is the beginning of even brighter journey ‘coz I have a lot of different businesses to bring in to the Philippines.

“And now, I have the time to do so. I have also another career that I’m eyeing for.

“So, of course, now is not the perfect time to share about that.

“In God’s time, I’ll reveal everything.”

When asked how was she after the pageant, Michele Gumabao answered,

“It’s still very hectic because it’s, like, I took a two-week vacation being part of the pageant.

“Aside from being part of Miss Universe Philippines, I never neglected my duties as a professional athlete, also as a businesswoman.”

“I managed a lot of different things.

“So, yung two weeks po na nasa Baguio kami, medyo ngayon ko po hinahabol lahat ng trabaho, lahat ng responsibilities na na-put on hold. So, medyo busy.

“Kaya after nito, ako yung unang interview dahil may pupuntahan pa po ako.

“So I’m just really thankful na very understanding din sila po about my personal obligations and also my career, dahil siyempre being the breadwinner of the family, I have to put them first. And always think about the people, my employees.

“So, kailangan talaga tayong busy kahit kailangan nating magpahinga, pero laban lang.”

Together with other beauty queens, Michele attended the E.skwela event of Miss Universe Philippines Organization (MUPO) at Frontrow in Sampaloc, Manila, Thursday.

This is the first public event of the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 winners MUP 2020 Rabiya Mateo, Ysabella Roxas Ysmael (1st runner-up), Pauline Amelinckx (3rd runner-up), Billie Hakenson (4th runner-up), and Michele Gumabao.
