McDonald’s is giving the first opportunity to purchase one of the rarest recipes the fast-food chain has ever produced, the elusive Big Mac sauce. The sauce is one of the most requested items by customers – but at Aus $23,100 or $18,000 dollars US the stiff price is bound to turn many folks off.
The Limited Edtion 500ml Big Mac Sauce Bottle is one of only 200 being sold – all for a good cause of course. McDonald’s is producing the limited collection of 200 bottles to sell on eBay to help sick children and families in their Ronald McDonald Homes.
“We’re excited to be auctioning off the first-ever bottle of Big Mac sauce for a cause we are passionate about,” chief marketing officer for McDonald’s Australia Mark Lollback said.
The auction for the sauce – whose ingredients are known to include relish, mustard, distilled vinegar, onion, garlic and salted egg yolks – will run until February 9.
Australian customers of McDonald’s will also be able to buy 25ml tubs of special sauce at restaurants around the country in February, the company said.
McDonald’s has over 36,000 outlets in over 100 countries, making it the largest burger chain in the world.
