Mayor Vico Sotto confirms coronavirus in Pasig

Mayor Vico Sotto confirms a coronavirus case in Pasig city, Monday. The patient, however, is not a resident of Pasig.

On the other hand, a COVID-19 patient whose a resident of Pasig is not confined in a hospital in the city.

In a post on Facebook, Sotto said the non-resident is confined at The Medical City in Pasig while the resident is confined at a private hospital outside of the city.

“As announced by the DOH, there is a covid-19 patient (not a Pasig resident) currently confined in Medical City Pasig,” the mayor said.

“There is also a covid-19 patient who is a Pasig resident, but is currently confined in a private hospital outside of Pasig,” he added. “The LGU is closely coordinating with the DOH. The hospitals are secure.”

Mayor Vico Sotto also said, “We are also implementing precautionary measures based on DOH and WHO guidelines. This includes, but is not limited to:

– Contact tracing (most important)
– Dedicated response teams observing proper protocol;
– Disinfection of public spaces;
– Cancelation of all public events and gatherings;
– Applications for permits for large private events on hold.”

Earlier, the respective mayors of Marikina City and Quezon city confirmed cases of COVID-19.

The Philippines has a total of 10 COVID-19 cases as of Monday morning, according to the DOH.

President Rodrigo Duterte already signed an executive order declaring a state of public health emergency in the country.
