A Philippine National Railways (PNR) train hit and killed a Manila City Hall employee yesterday morning in Tondo, Manila. The victim’s body fell under the train, causing his bones and skull to break into pieces.
PCpl. Marvin Lais of Manila Police District-Station 7 identified the employee as Florante Dupan Aguilar, 54 years old, and resident of Maria Guison St., Barangay 152, Zone 14. He was assigned to the City Engineering Department.
The incident happened at six o’clock in the morning at Triangulo-Antipolo St. Tondo, Manila.
In the CCTV footage of the barangay, the victim was seen walking around the area when he was hit by the train.
It was learned that the victim had just bought a “pandesal” or salt bread and crossed the railroad when the train hit him.
The victim’s wife Anna asked Manila Mayor Francisco ‘Isko’ Moreno Domagoso to help them since her husband was a Manila City Hall employee for 20 years.
Anna also said PNR should be held responsible for what happened to her husband. She believed the train operator had shortcomings since he did not even blow the train’s horn to warn the victim.
