Out of sheer jealousy, a man stabbed his 25-year-old wife in Bayambang, Pangasinan. The suspect said the victim had a chat mate.
Russel Simorio reported on GMA Regional TV “Balitang Amianan” on Tuesday that the victim was identified as Geneva De Guzman, who sustained stab wounds to various parts of the body.
The perpetrator, Ronmel De Guzman, was arrested, who confessed to the crime because he said he loves his wife very much.
During the police investigation, it appeared that Ronmel came home drunk at their house in Barangay Zone 6 and stabbed his wife without saying a word.
“Maraming saksak ang inabot niya [she sustained multiple stab wounds],” the victim’s father lamented. “Ginawa niyang hayop [ang anak ko] (he treated my daughter like an animal).”
According to the police, the culprit allegedly got angry when he allegedly caught the victim with a chat buddy.
“Siguro nung nahuli nung huli, naglasing muna. Nung nalasing ayun, wala raw anu-ano, walang pag-aaway na narinig yung mga kapitbahay. Talagang nung umuwi na lasing, pinagsasaksak na yung asawa niya,” said Police Lieutenant Normal Florentino, chief of Bayambang Police Station.
(Maybe when the husband caught her, he got drunk first. When he got drunk, they said he did not say anything. The neighbors heard no quarrel. He returned home drunk and stabbed his wife to death.)

Ronmel revealed that he committed the crime out of love for his wife.
He said he then ignored the alleged cheating of his wife because he loves her. But he got sick of it, so he committed the crime.
The suspect apologized to the victim’s relative.
But the victim’s family did not believe Ronmel’s explanation.
The victim’s father wants to imprison the suspect for life.
“Pagbayaran niya yung ginawa niya dahil ginawa niyang baboy [ang anak ko]. Maraming saksak ang ginawa kaya kailangan makulong siya ng habambuhay,” said the victim’s father.
(He will pay for what he did because he treated my daughter like a pig. She had many stab wounds, so he needs to imprisoned for life.)
