Malabon at critical risk category; contact tracing intensified

Pasig LGU, on the other hand, has intensified its monitoring and ensuring that health standards are implemented.

The Mandaluyong LGU also appealed to city residents not to be complacent after the number of active cases in the city doubled in just one week.

Mandaluyong Mayor Carmelita Abalos has already met with barangay officials to remind them to tighten the implementation of minimum health standards.

In San Juan, the curfew was re-enforced starting this Tuesday from 10 pm to 5 am.

Health workers, on-duty law enforcers, government employees, as well as drivers, and delivery service are exempted.

The LGUs of Makati, Taguig, and Pateros also warned their residents amid the continuing increase in COVID-19 cases.

In the past 7 days, the number of active COVID-19 cases or remaining ill in Makati has increased.

From 443 on March 2, it was at 632 on March 8 or an additional 189 coronavirus infections.

One of the 3 COVID-19 referral hospitals in Makati is at a “critical level,” which means at least 85 percent of its COVID-19 bed occupancy.

Another hospital is at “high risk” while the third is at “moderate risk.”

Mayor Abigail Binay stressed that the public should not be complacent amid the rising number of cases.

Taguig recorded 300 new COVID-19 cases in the first week of March.

In Pateros, from 33 active cases in the last week of February, it climbed to 44 on March 8.

In the interview, Pateros Mayor Miguel Ponce said he was concerned about the noticeable contamination of the housemates.

As of Tuesday, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines has hit more than 600,000 after the Department of Health (DOH) recorded 2,668 new cases.

Of that number, 41,822 were active cases, according to the DOH.

Meanwhile, President Rodrigo  is convinced that the reason for the rise of the COVID-19 case is because many Filipinos ignore the minimum health standards.

Because of this, Duterte advised the public not to forget to follow health and safety protocols.
