Magazine tips Davao mayor Rodrigo Duterte as future Philippine president

Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is featured on this month’s Asian Dragon Magazine in an article entitled “The Man Who Would Be President.”

Recently Duterte said he can’t decide whether to run or not in the up coming presidential elections. He tells the magazine why he has no intention of doing so, but expounds on what to expect if he should win.

“A lot of my friends have been spending already, and I said that the thought of being a president has not sunk in yet. The problem with being president is, whether you do right or wrong, by default it’s wrong. As a mayor, I work 30 hours a day, not 24 hours. If you are president, you work 50 hours a day. I wonder why so many people want the presidency?”
