Legendary cartoonist Jack Davis has passed away at his home in St Simons, Georgia, he was 91.

Founder of MAD Magazine, Davis made history after running parody ads, cartoons and even songs that encompassed the arts, comics and the humorous world that only Davis could create.

Davis’s work is still evident in MAD, though publishing stopped in 2007, today only a website dedicated to his life and ongoing works is still available.

Davis is also known for his works with EC Comics, a publisher noted for their series ‘Tales From the Crypt,” and ‘Seduction of the Innocent,” as well as creating covers for TV Guide and TIME Magazine.

An outpouring of support came through Twitter, with professionals from endless industries that have been touched by Davis and his works throughout a broad range of businesses and personal endeavours.

Jack Davis was known to be vibrant and relevant business ethics – he retired just last year at the age of 90.

Those who knew him, and know his works realise the loss and unending devotion of one of the greatest in the industry.

No word on his services were available at press time.
