Sanya admitted she felt “nervous” when she learned that she was chosen as the 2020 calendar girl of the famed liquor brand. Sanya succeeded last year’s model Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach.
“‘Di ako makapaniwala eh kasi si Pia Wurtzbach ‘yong bago ako so ang taas ng expectation,” Sanya said.
(I can’t believe it because Pia Wurtzbach was the model before me, so the expectations were really high.)
Ginebra San Miguel formally introduced Sanya as its new face during a press launch at Novotel in Cubao yesterday.
The 23-year old Sanya Lopez shared her fitness journey to be the next year’s Ginebra San Miguel calendar girl. She said she eliminated beef and pork from her diet and ate more fish, chicken, and vegetables instead.
Sanya said she’ll do her best to prove she’s fit for the job.
Ron Molina, Ginebra San Miguel National Marketing Manager, said they chose Sanya because she is a perfect representation of their new cocktail, the “Island Drink.”
“Sanya’s Island Drink” is the Ginebra San Miguel’s new cocktail, made especially for Sanya Lopez.
Sanya is the 32nd calendar girl of Ginebra since it started releasing in 1988.
