Laurenti Dyogi is the new head of Star Magic

ABS-CBN announced Thursday Laurenti Dyogi as the new head of Star Magic effective January 1, 2021.

Dyogi will replace Mariole Alberto, who will leave on December 31, “in line with the organizational changes due to the separation program implemented by the company.”

“Over the years, Mariole has been instrumental in the discovery and development of many of the country’s top talents. The success of many of our artists are due in large measure to Mariole’s dedication to her craft. We would like to acknowledge and thank Mariole for her many contributions to ABS-CBN, Star Magic, and to the industry,” ABS-CBN said in a statement.

Laurenti Dyogi, more known in the industry as Direk Lauren, is ABS-CBN’s Entertainment Production Director and the Head Director for Pinoy Big Brother.

A renowned director in the Philippines, he had done various films and drama series over the past decades. He had been working on ABS-CBN for over 20 years.

Meanwhile, Johnny Manahan or Mr. M will reportedly move to rival network TV5. He is known for managing actors, being the manager for ABS-CBN’s Star Magic (formerly the Talent Center), as well as the senior vice-president of ABS-CBN.

The appointment of Laurenti Dyogi came after its chair emeritus, and director  III announced his resignation due to personal reasons.

Gabby Lopez also resigned as director of ABS-CBN Holdings Corporation, Sky Vision Corporation, Sky Cable Corporation, First Philippine Holdings Corporation, First Gen Corporation, and Rockwell Land Corporation.

The Board of Directors of the Corporation accepted with regret accepted the resignation of Gabby Lopez III at the organizational meeting held today.

Just like his father, Eugenio ‘Kapitan Geny’ Lopez Jr., Gabby is a visionary and a compassionate leader driven by his love for the Philippines and the Filipino people.
