According to a report by Malate Police Station 9, the management of the condominium building called them when they found Sung’s body inside his unit on Saturday. This was after other residents of the building complained about the pungent odor coming from inside his flat.

Authorities opened the unit and found the victim lying on his bed and already at the first level of decomposition. During the police investigation, Sung was rushed to an unnamed hospital on August 10 by his friend John Young.

According to Young, Sung had difficulty breathing but insisted he was negative for COVID-19. Sung was returned to his condo unit, but on August 14, a resident of the 31st floor complained of a pungent odor, causing the body to be discovered.
