Korean arrested for stealing chocolate in Bacoor City, Cavite.

Police arrested a Korean after he allegedly stole food is a convenience store in Bacoor City, Cavite, Friday.

Police Lt. Col. Vicente Cabatingan, Bacoor police chief said Han Young Jun, 49, stole P3,000 worth of chocolate and other food items in an establishment in Barangay Niog 2, Tuesday night.

According to reports, Han took the food items and placed them inside his shorts before leaving the store without paying.

The convenience store employee confronted Han.

“Ang sabi nagpambuno sila sa convenience store dahil nanguha raw ng mga paninda at hindi binayaran,” Cabatingan said.

(The employee said he and Han wrestled inside the convenience store because the Korean took the goods but did not pay for it.)

The establishment’s surveillance camera captured the crime.

Han is now under police custody and will face theft charges.

Korean arrested in 2015 also for stealing

In 2015, police arrested Han for stealing items worth P5,000 in a shopping mall in Bacoor City.

He was again jailed in 2017 for stealing P1,000 worth of chocolate and toiletries at another shopping mall in the city.

Han was a car dealer in South Korea before coming to the Philippines in 2015.

Bacoor police have contacted the Korean embassy in the Philippines regarding Han’s case.
