Former University of the Philippines Lady Maroon Kathy Bersola revealed that former boyfriend, Maroons basketball player Bright Akhuetie has cheated on her during their one-year relationship.
Bersola took Instagram and alleged Akhuetie was seeing other women while they were still together. He also said the basketball player was “manipulative.”
“He was just continually using and manipulating me . . . He’d always ask me to help him with the school . . . Whenever I’d say something, he’d point it back to me and make so many excuses. He’d ask me for favors, etc.,” she said.
Later Bersola saw a post by Bright Akhuetie’s brother showing Akhuetie proposing to another woman.
“I messaged him, but he just seenzoned it (again). And today (Tuesday) Bright himself posted on his story a picture of him and the girl. THE AUDACITY, RIGHT???”
“We were perfectly fine until he just stopped talking to me in August. As week later he came over to say he thinks we should breakup because he “has a lot of problems and doesn’t wanna drag me into any of it, it’s not you, it’s me b******t. We ended that talk deciding that we’ll think more about it (especially me, hello, sobrang out of nowhere and I did’t know how to react talaga, like he came over na decided na siya ganun??) and talk some more about it,” Kathy Bersola.

She also said she asked Bright Akhuetie if there is a third party, but Akhuetie said, “No, of course not. Why would you think that? You know I tell you if that was the case, right?”
Kathy Bersola then said Bright had seen “soooo many girls” and claiming that he was single. She also said Akhuetie has another “official girlfriend…the one who is with him right now back home.”
Akhuetie, for his part, posted an Instagram story that looked like a response to Kathy Bersola’s revelation.
“Light a few candles, and burn a few bridges, not everyone deserves to be a part of your journey,” he posted, which was a verse by Los Angeles-based poet Pavana Reddy.
Fans and netizens poured out their support for Bersola, saying she does not deserve Bright Akhuetie.
